Repositories Page with DataTable

Enterprise users (Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Process Managers) needed a structured Repository to manage large datasets with fast filtering, bulk updates, and reusable views. The existing experience only allowed updating one object at a time, and lacked scalable table tooling (column management, grouping, export), creating major workflow bottlenecks. One client threatened to churn if a better interface was not provided by the end of 2024, making this a business-critical priority.

As part of a team effort, I contributed to implementing a complete repositories page with advanced datatable functionality, including bulk editing, filtering with saved queries, table-level customization, and export options to enable efficient data management and improve user workflows.

Working collaboratively with the team, I contributed to implementing comprehensive Repository table functionality including global search across object names and values, column management (show/hide, pin left/right), density controls, sorting, grouping, and CSV/Excel export. I built bulk inline editing with paste support (up to 20 items at a time), unsaved-change tracking with visual indicators, and permission-aware read/write fields. I implemented filtering workflows that auto-populate values by property, quick filters to save reusable queries (including column groupings), and in-table filters for questionnaire fields. The team also delivered SmartViews, a toggleable ArchiMate-based canvas view that carries over table filters for visual analysis.

This project highlighted that productivity gains come from combining bulk editing with high-leverage table tooling (filters, saved queries, exports, and visual views). Permission-aware editing and clear change tracking are essential for enterprise trust.
